As a child I wrote stories about kids with accidental science experiments and robust adventures. I was inspired by movies such as Honey I Strunk the Kids, Reading Rainbow and the Magic School Bus. However, as I grew older, I completely drifted away from writing.
I graduated from Wilberforce University with a Bachelor of Science degree. While growing up, I had a vivid imagination and a healthy dose of curiosity. Throughout my life, my creative and science interests often fought for my attention.
I started writing I Am the Moon 2 years ago. During the process of writing, I experienced many new challenges. At one point, I wish I had a little Cornelius around me to tell me to keep going…. That’s when it hit me.
This story is expressing how the cloud of doubt from events, situations or people have told me at one point in my life that I can’t do something. BUT my little internal voice (Cornelius) drove me to say I CAN! and I DID! I am so grateful for all the support I received from family and friends! I want every child and every reader to know they are special and have a purpose in life to fulfill. We All Do!
While writing my first children's book I was inspired to start Play Along Publishing LLC. Play Along Publishing forms stories to open the creative boundaries that will connect the mind to limitless possibilities and drive change.
